Advanced Refractive Surgery Options

img

Refractive Surgery refers to surgical procedures that correct common vision problems such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), astigmatism, and presbyopia. These procedures reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses by reshaping the cornea to improve the way light rays are focused on the retina.
At the Himalayan Eye Institute, we offer state-of-the-art laser and lens-based vision correction procedures including LASIK, PRK, and ICL implantation. Our advanced diagnostic tools and customized treatments ensure safety, precision, and optimal results tailored to each individual’s eye anatomy and lifestyle needs.

Refractive Surgery FAQ's

Refractive surgery corrects vision problems by changing the shape of the cornea or implanting a lens inside the eye. Individuals over 18 with stable vision and no major eye diseases are usually eligible candidates.
The common types include LASIK, PRK, SMILE, and ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens). The best procedure depends on your eye condition and corneal thickness.
LASIK is a safe and effective surgery with high success rates. The effects are long-lasting, although minor changes may occur due to aging (e.g., presbyopia).
ICL is a lens implant used for patients who are not suitable for LASIK due to high power or thin corneas. It provides excellent quality vision and is removable.
Most patients recover within 24 to 48 hours, though complete healing may take a few weeks. You may resume normal activities soon with few restrictions.
